Our Next 75 Summit Highlights

What was the Summit?

As the culmination of three Regional Visioning Workshops, we invited 1,000+ leaders from across our region to a summit at the Wyndham Grand hotel in downtown Pittsburgh. Today’s and tomorrow’s leaders compared notes on what they’re doing to move the region forward, found way to better align their efforts, and committed to working together on transformational regional projects to take the Pittsburgh region into the future.

The Summit was a part of the multi-year agenda-setting process for the Allegheny Conference on Community Development. The Conference has held similar summits every few years for more than a decade, but this one is larger by far. For the 75th, we wanted to make it as diverse as possible by every measure you can think of -- to share ideas, chart a path forward, and do it together.

The Pittsburgh Possibilities Sound Project

The Pittsburgh Possibilities Sound Project is a unique collaboration in the style of StoryCorps between the Allegheny Conference on Community Development and 90.5 WESA, Pittsburgh’s NPR News station.

The audio visions – a future-focused time capsule of sorts – were recorded at the Our Next 75 Summit this past June. The goal of the project was to keep citizen leaders, today’s and tomorrow’s, focused on our region’s future and committed to continuing to work together to create a world-class region for tomorrow.
